A practice shaped by twenty-five years of doing the work.

Built to bring senior P&C actuarial counsel to organizations that need it on a cadence that fits, not as a fixed payroll line.

The Story

Twenty-five years of P&C work, collected into a single practice.

Coastal Carolina Actuarial Consulting was founded on a straightforward observation: most carriers, captives, and programs in the specialty market need credentialed actuarial work on a quarterly or annual cadence, not a full-time payroll line.

The practice grew out of twenty-five years of work spanning primary carriers, fronting structures, reinsurers, and captives, across all eight active P&C lines of business. Workers Compensation and Personal Auto sit at the deep end of the experience curve; Cyber and Professional Liability at the newer end. Every line has been priced, reserved, opined, or modeled at some point along the way.

What CCAC offers is the same credentialed actuary delivering the same caliber of work on a smaller, more flexible engagement footprint. No retainers. No minimums. No layered teams. The actuary who scopes the engagement is the actuary who delivers it.

The practice serves the specialty and smaller-carrier market specifically, where senior actuaries are scarce, junior staffing dominates, and minimum engagement sizes outpace most program operations.

The CCAC Practice
Differentiators

Four things that do not change from engagement to engagement.

i.

You always work with the credentialed actuary.

No junior hand-offs. No rotating account managers. The FCAS who scopes the engagement runs it from intake through final delivery, and is the person you speak to when the regulator follows up six months later.

ii.

Complex analysis, delivered in plain language.

Findings translated for CEOs, CFOs, and boards, so the people accountable for the numbers actually understand what's driving them. This is a hallmark of the practice, not an afterthought.

iii.

Right-sized, flexible engagements.

Hourly or fixed-fee. No retainers, no minimums, no annual commitments. The engagement scales to fit the question on the table, whether that's a single peer review or a year-round appointed-actuary relationship.

iv.

Built for the specialty and smaller market.

Fronting carriers, RRGs, captives, MGAs, program managers: operations that need senior actuarial work on a cadence that matches their structure, and a working relationship that doesn't require navigating three layers of consulting overhead.

Your analysis and work through the years helped make the company financially stable.
